Suburban Interchange and Civic Monument, Diepenbeek, Belgium

The Dept. of Transportation of the Flemish Region requested proposals for an interstate on and off-ramp complex, currently plagued by traffic jams but nevertheless in a rural location. ORG proposed an elongated round-about over the E313. An existing bridge would handle traffic in the Northern direction, while traffic moving in the Southern direction would utilize a new bridge. The existing bridge, with a wide section, would also serve as a bicycle path and green corridor across the highway. The detailed design of road sections is part of developing a durable, multi-modal environment.
