Town Center and Library Design, City of Opglabbeek, Belgium

Discipline:

The town center and library design for the city of Opglabbeek by ORG addresses the functional needs of the library, while also proposing a larger urban public space concept. Rather than concentrating all of the new program in a new big building, we propose to house it in pavilions, which themselves structure two new plaza’s. These realize a missing link of public space and establish a continuous chain of differing public open spaces, existing and new.
